For more than two centuries, our U.S. Army remains the world’s largest and dominant force defending America’s citizens and preserving freedom both at home and abroad.
Organized originally as the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, the Army we know today has spent the past two centuries of service growing and evolving to meet the ever-changing faces of danger and terrorism.
The nearly 1.6 million members of the VFW and its Auxiliary would like to offer every American soldier — past and present — a sincere “thank you.” Your courage, selflessness and commitment to ensuring America and our freedoms remain protected is deeply appreciated.
